Medication Options

There are many different medications which can help with pain. All medications have side effects and some may not be suitable for you. They need to be individually tailored to each patient. Some are also subject to strict regulatory control via the Health Department.


If our doctors think that a medication is not suitable for you then they may refuse to prescribe or support it. This may even occur if another doctor has previously prescribed it. Typically this affects the potentially addictive medications from the opioid group (eg. Morphine, Oxyconde, Fentanyl etc), ketamine and cannabis.
